Hi all,

This Sunday (22/03/15), a classic mini event is happening.
Its the "MiniMine" and "CrewsMissiles" yearly drive out, followed by a VAT free mini parts shop and a BBQ. I attended this last year, was a brilliant day, great roads to the start point in crew, great drive in convoy with lots of other minis, and then a good poke about at the MiniMine center.

This year I will be attending, but in my Metro as the clubman is now off the road for restoration. At this point weather is given to be good so am expecting a good turn out. The drive there is around an hour and a half, I know an exceptionally good fun rout to get us there, mostly on the cat and fiddle and moorland.

At the moment it looks like im on my own in this one from our area, so your company would be brilliant, if you fancy meeting up and driving down together, drop me an email on james1995newsam@gmail.com sometime before Saturday night.

As I said, its a great drive down, great day of driving, and ends with a free burger!

Thanks, James - Organizer.

P.S, Sorry to all the none mini drivers out there, I do not normally specify a make/model, but as this is someone else's event I have to.

As expected, it was just me and my mate :P it was a long shot that anyone can make it with such short notice. Anyway it was me in my destroyed and not at all to my taste Clubby GT, last drive before its restoration on Monday. And Joe in his lightly modified mk2 mx5. We ended up taking that rout, and then going on another 30 mins after the end point taking in a spectacular view point..... photo opportunity me thinks. ;) It stayed dry for us, if a little cold, escaped most all traffic and had a blast on the twisty turny little roads in the area.

Keep an eye on the club blog page for the next run, I will try to post them up here about a month or so before im running it.

Thanks,

LAST MINUET RUN! SHEFFIELD MATLOCK! DASHr club
Okay, when I say last minuet.. i mean last minuet!

Its tomorrow, Saturday the 7th February 15. I was bored, and asked a mate if he fancied a drive out.

SO the run is a 38 mile run, with approximately 1hr 30 mins driving time. It begins at 1:00, after lunch, at the Travelers Rest pub in the hope valley (nr bradwell) just outside Sheffield, S33 9HG
It will take us up through bradwell, onto tideswell, then onto litton, to cressbrook, up monsal head, then into bakewell, and out to matlock bath. We then go onto the cromford t junction. From here, we turn left, and then the second towards grangemill. We go on past Winster, back to rowsley, then past the chatsworth estate, and onto the devonshire arms in Pilsley.  See map, im expecting tiny numbers as its the day before, so no need for the rout plan.

So the main details:

Start at Travelers rest pub carpark, Bradwell, S339HG at 1:00pm Saturday 6th Feb

Pause
monsal head P&D carpark, approximatly 1:35pm

End Devonshire Arms Pilsley, DE45 1UL, 3:00pm

I am the long haired weirdo in a leather Jacket and a beet up blue Classic Mini Clubman GT.

As normal, the disclaimer: This is not a timed event, race, rally or convoy, it is just a guided rout. You are responsible for your own driving and actions. Drive within yours and your cars limit, I take no responsibilities for you.

Thanks,

¬_¬ yet another little tweak, annoyingly ive just found out that the monsol head/cressbrook road is closed for a cycle race. SO on your printed rout plan cross out all steps between Litton and Ashford (where the cricket field is). Here we may if needed go strait through Litton, turning right at the bottom of the road, then right again just before the abandoned petrol station, this will then eventual lead to Ashford where we pick up our original rout.

The Loo break will also need tweaking, this may now be in asford, so when coming down the hill into ashford, at the bottom of the road T junction, looking at a pub, turn right, then right again at the church, you will come to a small playing field with Loos.
Sorry for the annoyance, James.
Hi all,
Just a reminder that the event is tomorrow, All the details of the run are on the rout plan which can be found on the following link, this is an updated version, i had made a slight mistake on the original rout plan, not on a turning but on a reference point, so use this plan over the others:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bKaAyHOnmG7qNkRl5bkRBW0vG9iCzGYjLfzHqoimgG8/edit?usp=sharing

Please come with a FULL tank of fuel as it is an 85 mile run, if you would like a drink at the start or end point and are usually ID'd then remember your id and of cause some money ;) BRING THE ROUT PLAN!!!! and id recommend a satnav in-case you get hopelessly lost (shouldn't happen though) and you can put in the end point. A packed lunch should be brought as we will be stopping for dinner at a beauty spot of the Derwent damn, (famed for the bouncing bomb testing).

Don't forget the start point IS NOT THE PUB CAR PARK! but the LAY-BY NEXT TO IT.

Its not too late for others to come! all are welcome so drag others along!
See you all tomorrow at the lay-by near the moorlands pub.

The next DASHr run is on the 05/10/2014
Hi all, i'm putting together the next run, this is a new rout, new timings, and the first to be based on the new web page. However as always all cars allowed, and it should be a fun drive through great scenery and on some of the best roads in the country. This is a big one. The last run I did was roughly 60 miles, this one is 85 miles. I have upped the distance and heavily altered the rout after some of the clubs members who came on previous runs requested it extended and with more stops. It will start at the usual start point of the moorlands pub in sheffield. From here we will take the extremely long, windy scenic route to a pub in one of the chocolate box villages in the chatsworth estate. The run will include the surprise view at fox house, the Legendary Snake Pass start to finish, the mam tor moving mountain and its edale road. A short yet insanely steep hill to really put your car through their paces, the spectacular monsal head viaduct, and finally passing the chatsworth house stately home as we head to one of the picturesque local pubs. Where possible I have planned to stick to the small windy and scenic roads and take us through some beautiful villages. Full rout plan with map is attached, if you have difficulty accessing it or have any questions, issues or concerns, email me JN.DASHr@gmail.com.

I
'm just putting the final touches to the rout plan and details page. Keep an eye on here for those, final details, updates, and always remember to double check the blog before setting off to any runs/events im planning in case of last minuet changes. Thanks, keep watching the blog, James Newsam - Organiser.

More of the same, just a new website.

Hi all,
Yes this is the same group as on facebook, and hopefully will work as well, if not even better than the facebook one did.

There are two reasons for the change to blogger from facebook; Firstly from some feedback ive been getting from a few car forums I have been posting our meets on, saying how not everyone has facebook and so not all can access the site. Although this may not seem to be an issue to the younger among us, as we have all grown up with, or had children grow up with and so out of necessity learnt about computers and so facebook. Some of the older amongst us (as we do have a large age range and type of vehicle range from vintage, to classic to modified) do not see the need for facebook. The second is a more minor reason, however I will be leaving facebook after finding they had lost/sold some personal information I had only put on facebook. And so they will loose me as a user/customer at the end of the week. As I said this is only a very minor reason and alone would not cause an issue as Id just get a friend to post on the facebook page for me. (This may still be the case). However this blog is where the most up to date and direct info will be.

I am new to this blogging thing, so do excuse any unusual things I do. I think you can comment on the blogs anonymously (without an account), If I could ask you to begin any posting with your name/nickname/forum name, so we can know who is saying what. Feel free to email me james1995newsam@gmail.com if you have any questions, issues etc. I will also continue to post on Pistonheads, TMF and a few others, however please spread the word about the club, and when events come on tell your friends/clubs/forums of it and help it to grow.

I will be posting up here the next run very shortly, it will be on a Sunday in roughly a month and a bits time and will be a slightly different rout, same sort of size, same sort of roads, just a different selection of them. Keep an eye on this page!

Thankyou all for your continued support of a local, independent, free, and non discriminating club.
